DPL Therapy Naturally Removes
Aging Spots
and Reduces Wrinkles for Men and Women
Deep
Penetrating Far Infrared Light Treatment Removes Wrinkles, Crow's Feet, Sun Damage,
Aging Spots and Blemishes, Diminishes Pore Size and Improves the
Texture of the Skin
As
we age, collagen and elastin components of our skin degenerate, setting
the stage for the appearance of wrinkles, creases, folds and furrows.
According to the National Institute on Aging, the breakdown of these
components, accelerated by sun exposure and gravity, result in sagging
skin. Additionally, skin is easily damaged by external factors such as
sunlight, pollution, harsh soaps and chemicals and by internal causes
such as cigarette smoke and diet.
According to the American Academy
of Dermatology (AAD), aging causes skin cells to produce excess amounts
of free radicals - unstable oxygen molecules - that, under ideal circumstances,
are removed by naturally occurring antioxidants within the skin's cells.
In aging skin cells, antioxidants are in short supply. The free radicals
generated are left unchecked and cause damage to cell membranes, proteins
and DNA. These free radicals eventually break down a protein substance
in connective tissue (Collagen) and release chemicals that cause inflammation
in the skin. It is a combination of these cellular and molecular events
that leads to skin aging and the formation of wrinkles.
As we age, each layer of the
skin grows thinner. In addition, the Stratum Corneum becomes rough. Collagen
is one of the substances that gives our skin its youthful suppleness
and tautness, but it is also especially susceptible to damage from free
radicals. Normally, collagen molecules "slide" over one another,
which gives its skin its softness and resiliency. But once they've been
damaged they become stiff and inflexible and that conditions tends to
make the skin look "old."
Understanding the
Structure and Function of Skin and Photons
Was Important to the Development of DPL™ Therapy.
Studies show that photons from
certain LEDs produce bioactive effects (those that interact with living
tissues) that can benefit the appearance of sun-damaged, discolored and
aging skin. Here are a few results from those studies on skin damage:
Sun Damage: Melanocytes
begin to burn out when you reach your late 30's and 40's reducing the
skin's ability to fight sun damage and often causing uneven pigmentation.
Thinning:
After about age 40, the dermis and the skin's fat layer begin to thin.
The process picks-up-steam after your 50th birthday and the result
is sagging and the loss of the plump, youthful softness. The loss of
the fat layer also makes the skin more fragile and likely to corrode.
Loss of Firmness:
In the dermis, cells called fibroblasts constantly replenish our skin's
production of collagen and elastin. Fibroblasts lose their ability
to function over the years, resulting in the reduction of collagen
and elastin.
Diminished Immune
Response: The skin is home to Langerhan's cells, receptors
for the immune system that register the presence of foreign agents
and toxins. Without them we are less likely to get a warning signal
when we come in contact with irritants.
Reduced ability to
Repair Damage: Our body looses its ability to repair free-radical
damage, so changes in the cells become more pronounced, accelerating
aging.
Loss
of Temperature Control: Sweat glands also slowly lose their
ability to function, which makes it harder for our body to regulate
itself and register heat and cold.

Happily, our skin has allies
in its continuing fight against free-radical damage: DPL™ Therapy.
Deep Penetrating Light (DPL)
Skin Rejuvenation and Pain Relief Therapy Device $349.95
Deep
Penetrating Red and Infrared Light Therapy is the most advanced, non-invasive
home wrinkle treatment system available to diminish the appearance of
fine lines, wrinkles, creases, furrows, crow's-feet and the visible signs
of facial aging.
How Long Before Seeing Results
Using
the DPL Therapy system, some people see results in as little as a few
days and others take a month or two to notice a change. Various physical
conditions, age, skin condition, diet, alcohol consumption, prescription
drug usage, smoking, exercise and other factors influence the rate of
improvement. The effects of LED light are often subtle at first, since
unlike lasers, peels and other ablative treatments, LED light does not
damage the skin to force it to regenerate. Your results will improve
the longer you use the light; so though you should see improvement in
60 days, you should see a much more significant change after you've been
using it for 6 months or a year.
How DPL Therapy Heals and Rejuvenates the Skin
The DPL™ Therapy System uses a form of energy called photon to stimulate
deep into the skin. The system has been designed and engineered to produce
4 joules per cm 2. The DPL™ Therapy System has a combination of 154 880nm
infrared LEDs and 20 660 nm Red LEDs -- just as NASA has specified.
All biological systems have a unique absorption spectrum, this uniqueness
determines which wavelengths of light will be absorbed to produce a given
therapeutic effect. The visible red and infrared portions of the spectrum
have been shown to be highly absorbent and produce unique restorative
effects on living tissues.
Red
light stimulates and activates skin cells and promotes blood circulation.
Visible red light penetrates to a depth of about 8-10 mm, and is beneficial
in treating problems close to the surface such as wounds, cuts, scars,
trigger and acupuncture points, and is particularly effective in treating
infections. Invisible red light (infrared) is the longest wave length,
and penetrates to a depth of about 30-40 mm, which makes it more effective
for bones, joints, deep muscles, etc. Infrared light is absorbed by the
skin and used as a source of energy to stimulate fibroblast cell activity
in the skin, which increases the production of collagen and elastin—the
proteins responsible for your skin's tone and elasticity. Most infrared
LED lights produce both red and infrared wavelengths, and are effective
for rejuvenating aging skin as well as treating acne and blemishes.
It is thought that light photons are absorbed by the skin and underlying
tissue, which triggers biological changes within the body in a process
known as photobiomodulation. Although the exact mechanism of action is
still undergoing study, what is known is that monochromatic light increases
oxygen and blood flow, facilitating wound healing.
Deep Penetrating Light Therapy Causes the Following Actions:
Increase Vascularity
(circulation). Circulation is increased by increasing
the formation of new capillaries, which are additional blood vessels
that replace damaged ones. New capillaries speed up the healing
process by carrying more oxygen as well as more nutrients needed
for healing and they can also carry more waste products away.
Stimulate the Production
of Collagen. Collagen is the most common protein found
in the body. Collagen is the essential protein used to repair damaged
tissue and to replace old tissue. It is the substance that holds
cells together and has a high degree of elasticity. By increasing
collagen production less scar tissue is formed at the damaged site.
Stimulate the Release
of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the major carrier
of energy to all cells. ATP provides the chemical energy that drives
the chemical reaction of the cell. It is the body’s fuel.
Increase Lymphatic
System Activity. Edema, which is the swelling or natural
splinting process of the body, has two basic components. The first
is a liquid part, which can be evacuated by the blood system, and
the second is comprised of the proteins, which have to be evacuated
by the lymphatic system. Research has shown that the lymph vessel
diameter and the flow of the lymph system can be doubled with the
use of light therapy. The venous diameter and the arterial diameters
can also be increased. This means that both parts of edema (liquid
and protein) can be evacuated at a much faster rate to relieve
swelling.
Increase RNA and
DNA Synthesis. This helps damaged cells to be replaced
more promptly.
Reduce the Excitability
of Tissue. The photons of light energy enter the body
as negative ions. This calls upon the body to send positive ions
like calcium among others to go to the area being treated.
Stimulate Fibroblastic
Activity. Fibroblasts aid in the repair process. Fibroblasts
are present in connective tissue and are capable of forming collagen
fibers.
Increase Phagocytes. Phagocyte
cells scavenge for and ingest dead or degenerated cells for the purpose
of clean up. This is an important part of the infection fighting
process. Destruction of the infection and clean up must occur before
the healing process can take place.
Induce a Thermal
Like Effect in the Tissue. The light raises the temperature
of the cells although there is no heat produced from the diodes
themselves.

Don't
Be Fooled with Less Expensive Systems
Just
because there are high priced actors in the commercial for other systems
doesn't mean they are better! The primary goal of the product
should be to maximize the light energy into the skin. Here are a few
tips to consider before purchasing any Infrared light therapy system:
Should
I Buy an LED Product with Blinking Lights?
Many products have blinking LED's, yet there is no evidence that the
blinking lights cause any benefits. Blinking is frequently used to
cool LED's by creating an on/off cycle that, in turn, controls the
temperature of the LED. Excessive heat degrades the performance of
the LED and decreases it's lifespan. So while blinking lights may look
pretty or make you think something is being accomplished, however,
in actuality, blinking reduces the light energy. The DPL™ Wrinkle Treatment
System has been engineered to provide maximum light energy during usage.
I've Seen a
Light Therapy Product For Under $100. Is There Really a Difference
in the Products? Yes, there can be a huge difference among light therapy products.
Some smaller, less expensive devices use heat generators similar to
a heating pad to simulate power. This reduces the cost of the system
and its effectiveness. These products will not achieve the same results
as the DPL™ Therapy Wrinkle Treatment System.
The DPL™ panels are all about the LED's. The power and heat felt
when using the product is 100% created by the Infrared and Red Lights
maximizing the light irradiance building an affordable at-home solution.
Does the Number of LED's Matter?
Absolutely. There are 154 Infrared LED's and 20 Red LED's on the DPL™
Therapy Wrinkle Treatment System. That's more than any other home
treatment unit available, which allows you to treat a much larger
surface area.
Does the Color of the LED's Matter?
In designing the DPL™ Therapy Wrinkle Treatment System, the NASA specifications,
using Infrared and Red LED's, was targeted since there was good
science and studies backing the information. The results with these
specifications have been so tremendous that Blue or Yellow LED's
have not been pursued.
I'm Still Not Sure How To Tell If the DPL™ System Is Better Than
Other Products?
The DPL™ Therapy Wrinkle Treatment System is the only one that is designed
to be used for both wrinkle reduction and approved by the FDA for minor
pain relief. If you are still unsure, review the power specifications
of each product and make sure they conform to the NASA published specifications
of 4 Joules/CM2 and cover the largest area in the smallest amount of
time.
